Little things please little minds

Ok i dont care if it makes me sad, or maybe completley off my rocker but today i had the new oven installed and i cant stop looking at it!  im feeling rather spoilt.

It finally got installed today, even though the kitchen has been finished for 5 weeks now, its beautiful, i dont even want to use it..but thats ok coz its self clean!!!

Im a bit intimidated by the fact that it has a control panel that looks like something nasa would come up with, it has a food probe built in, 90 automatic programs...ok i love gadgets i admit that especially in the kichen.

My son went to use it an hour ago to cook a pizza and i wouldnt let him...i know thats sad huh..but there is no way its first use is going to be bloody pizza!

I have been told off (laughingly) for sitting at the breakfast bar just staring at it.

Im so excited....i know about an oven! clearly im bonkers.

  1. You are absolutely not bonkers! Its exciting to get new stuff especially big ticket items. So if you had the time to make anything you wanted, what would be you first thing you would cook in there.

Saying no to the pizza is hysterical.

Oh well it would have to be beef wellington, but today it was roast chicken with all the trimmings.

  2. I'm the same way. I needed a new stove hood and got one for Christmas and you would have thought he bought me expensive jewelry or something. And I agree with you- you can't christen the new oven with a frozen pizza!

  4. Awesome!
And if you're bonkers, I am too--that's how I was when we got the new washing machine. I refused to close the laundry room doors, (may have been caught gazing lovingly at it a time or two) and the kids were told no they could not do their own laundry for the first time in their lives lol.

    Have fun cooking!

  6. New appliances are the best,my best thus far was my new super big refrigerator when I moved into my house. I am still in love with it.

Now if i could just get a super cool new laundry machine, then life would truly be good. lol

I guess I fit into the bonkers list as well.

Blimey lucky you that he installed them, i end up doing that sort of thing myself, it is nice though to get stuff that makes a home well more homely!

  8. There's something about shiny new kitchen full of appliances that haven't been used...Seriously...

And not wanting to use them....well, it's nice while it lasts. But..then again...growing up in an Italian neighborhood, the kitchens in the house were for show....All the messy stuff was done in the garage. True. Everyone had an extra oven in their garage they cooked with more or less on a daily basis.

Dunno if it was the same everywhere or if it was just the area mouse lived in.

The one in the house was only used when company came and sparingly....Now that's just weird.

    1. mouse i have never come accross hearing this before, part of me likes the idea until i think of the impracticality of it.

Its certainly wierd but from my limited knowledge of Italians they are big on cooking, maybe there was a method behind the madness! lol
