Shaving dilemma

I have been wandering about epilators (anyone use them?), at the moment i use just good old razor and shaving cream but its such a pain having to keep on top of it all the time.  I tried waxing and it bloody hurts and not in a way thats nice, although that was many years ago so perhaps its not so bad now but the truth is im a wimp so im too scared to go and find out.

He likes me clean shaven...everywhere i have tried to let him let me have hair down there but the man just wont budge...its not to my taste i would like some, i wouldnt want to go completley natural because i dont like that either but i dont think the word compromise is in his vocabulary strangely enough.  If its not done properley he will get the tweezers out and ouch need to avoid that although it could be worse in one of my defiant moments of saying i wouldnt do it he threatened to sew my lips together (not the ones on my face) and being a man that doesnt make idle threats..yep i always shave.

So eplilators im considering it, but there pricey and i dont want to spend money on something that is not really good at its purpose and it hurts, some people say its fine, some people say they are useless....i dont know maybe i should just stick with the razor....i just want a quick soloution.

  1. I use an epilator on my legs. It's fine on the legs. I wouldn't use one for your pubs. I've done it before, and just for the bikini area. It was beyond painful. Drew blood. OUCH. I didn't mind waxing. The epilator again? No. Just no.

  2. I've always wanted to try one, but I haven't yet. I tried waxing once, years ago, and found it quite painful in a not good way too. I've been considering trying it again recently to see if it is better. I'm not completely clean shaven, my guy likes a little bit of fringe at the top, lol.

  4. I usually rock the bush because I am not sexually active, hopefully (crossing fingers) that will end soon...I shave every other month when it gets too much to handle, i guess I am very lazy to keep up with it as well.
I have never used an epilator and after seen (and hearing) my sister get a brazilian wax I never considered it after that.

One reason i dont like shaving is because of the ingrown hair and the bumps I get after...

if you try the epilator let us know how it works out for you!!

    Hugs!

    Love your blog btw

  5. Oh no...the epilator is the worst thing for that...Imagine the tweezers doing the same thing 20 hairs at a time. Ya. Daddy doesn't mind a little bush...neatly trimmed of course.

This led to mouse "borrowing" his beard trimmer.

He wasn't happy when his trimmer went dull (he sports a goatee), the confession from mouse was quite funny and the look on his face was priceless. Then he went out and bought himself a new beard trimmer. Lmao.

When we got the piercings, mouse had to shave...it was a pain. Then a couple of them started migrating...so we decided to remove them :-(

    Hugs,
    mouse

  7. Some of the more advanced epilators are designed to do delicate areas, but... there is always one of those... they still hurt every bit as much as waxing. Apparently the pain lessens the more you do it... Personally one did not find that was the case at all. It just hurt :(

    1. Yes im more and more convinced that epilators are a no-no, and im pretty sure i dont want to keep doing it to find out if the pain lessens lol

  8. Shaving leaves stubble and is difficult to maintain - also you run the risk of bumps and unsightly ingrown hairs. Waxing is smooth regrowth is finer and lasts longer than shaving but you need to ask around for a reputable salon. and i've heard it hurts. Mine is mostly laser-ed off. IPL or FPL at a beauty/spa salon is costly but the results are good. They can't get ALL the hair cos the real delicate vulva areas are a no no, so I shave the rest of the way. But mons and labia majora are zapped clean.

I'm going to try this other photo therapy thing in the coming months (which CAN be done even in the sensitive inner lips area) but it's only done by a doctor/derma specialist. costs about USD$150 per session and it's done once a month for about 4 months- then the whole area remains clear for about a year!!

hope that helps to give you some options for researching :)

  9. hi

Thankyou, im going to look into lasering as that is an option that i hadnt considered, i dont mind the expense so much if its worth it which in the long term i think it could well be.

Not heard of photo therapy so i shall be doing some googling and see what i come up with.

thanks for the information it is appreciated.

  10. I do a Brazilian waxing every 4 weeks. The first time hurts like hell because you have to grow it out to take it off, but after that.. its not that bad. I would never go back to shaving. My waxing salon is bit unique, they have a patent on their wax and they don't use paper sheets. The wax itself gets applied and taken( a.k.a ripped) off (LOL).
My salon is so good it is literally 7 minutes start to finish and almost zero pain. Clean as a babies bottom and the regrowth is minimal. I know it is NOT for everyone, but for me it works and
if you find a good salon and trust them it is not a difficult process.

I have heard good things about Lasering as well- just haven't tried it, but I can't imagine there is not some pain there too.

    Good luck!!!

  11. oh bloody hell faithful thats definitley put me off waxing lol i was clenching my legs together reading the comment!

shaving is a pain and yep has its drawbacks but im beginning to be more and more convinced its the only pain free way...but then they do say no pain no gain so perhaps in the case of being hair free this is true lol
