Its the sun's fault

It is!!!

The heat we have been experiencing over here hasnt been good for me, pretty much most of last week i wasnt feeling good, but come Thursday i was really poorly, my sugar levels were going through the roof, and then a 12 hour train journey on Saturday to pick up my neice who is staying for a week....was too much, i started out at 5.50 am and arrived back home at 8.25pm as i wanted to avoid an overnight stay, i did it in one day...in hindsight...bad idea.

Anyway, checking in with blogger, which i havent been much of late (so some catching up to do with reading what you all been up to lol), i read a comment critiscing the post i made regarding needle play, it wasnt "broad" enough apparently, and "I think your post is biased, how arrogant of you to suggest its not that painful, are you an expert?"

ok, so i did state in that post that and i quote "I can only give my opinon from being on the recieving end of needle play" and "im not a medical expert"....

The odd thing is..well not odd but well im actually wary of dishing out advice, although i have no problem in asking for it, i think no matter how much we know, we should always be open to learning more, and there is no shame in reaching out to someone....i think its arrogant to have the attitude of..."oh i know it all, i dont need any ones advice, opinion etc"

But back to giving advice, yes i wrote that post because i was asked about it, and i replied to the person via email, pretty much covering what i wrote in that post, but i did express that ultimatley my opinions are based on my experiences.....and im sure someone else could write a post on needle play and have a different opinion.

Doesnt that apply to everything pretty much?

Giving advice i struggle with because naturally its based on what i know, what has worked and continues to work for me....but its not going to work for everyone, and thats ok, but its so easy most especially when new to ttwd to place too much trust in what "the more experienced say", to 'compare' when there is so much diversity within ttwd and all relationships are different.

Not saying one shouldnt ask, heck never stop asking questions (thats how we learn) but its more important to remember thats its based on that persons experience....and someone else could give a totally different reply.

You experiment, have fun and find what works for you.

I would hate to think that i come accross as "all knowing" because im most definitley not....i dont have all the answers, i mess up, and im not afraid to admit it...ashamed sometimes yes!

but i love learning, and i do learn, from my own experiences as they continue, from reading other blogs and reading different perspectives and from the interaction on my own blog.

One can simply never stop learning.

  1. That train ride sounds killer! Hopefully you can rest up in the next couple of days.

I agree with you. There is so much I still don't know, but I tend to do lots of research regarding any new activity (or just in general) and get many perspectives and opinions. Sometimes, none of what I read applies. Sometimes, all of it applies! lol You do what works for you, what makes you happy. It's all you can do! Thanks for always sharing :)

  2. Tori,

Wow, that is definitely a long day. Make sure you drink a lot of fluids and get some good nutrition in your system. It will make you feel better.

I know I'm new to the scene and blogland, but I've read quite a few of your blogs thus far. I can say without a doubt that you do not come across as all knowing. I very much enjoyed your needle blog. That type of play isn't my cup of tea, but I am more than intrigued on how one is fascinated with it.

There are many different edge play scenes I have read. None are in depth though, so I enjoy reading the blogs that are of a personal experience. Not only does it answer what exactly entails with the edge play, but gives a perspective that opens up the mind to more possibilities in this lifestyle.

Don't fret over those who can't open their minds. Instead, pity them for missing out on experiences that are beyond orgasmic.

    Enjoy your niece!

    Hugs

    1. hi HS

i have been very good and drinking lots, i think it was a lack of rest that was getting to me i was just doing too much.

I like hearing of other peoples accounts because i like the pyscology (sp) of these dynamics, its so interesting i think to hear of the interactions.

I try not to let annoying comments get to me, and it didnt so much as it annoyed me that this person clearly hadnt read the beginning!

My niece is a delight, thanks

  4. oh, 12 hours to pick up your niece! I hope that doesn't mean you're doing it again at the end of the week?

I think your posts are always beautiful and I appreciate when you share you experience and knowledge, especially because you seem the furthest down the path of D/s of any blogger I read. I love your insights!

    1. oh no Renee, i couldnt it really did me in, my brother is coming to collect her...thankfully.

Thankyou very much, i have always sworn since i wrote this blog it would be about getting my thoughts out, to learn about myself, i never started this for popularity nor could i care less about stats...and i think that makes a difference in how a blog is potrayed.

i love the interaction, the community, the diversity and the tolerance and understanding that we are all different.

  5. Sharing experiences doesn't make somebody an expert nor does giving an opinion make them opinionated. I don't know how anyone can read your blog and misjudge you, you're very honest in what you write and that is to be appreciated.
Do please continue to share your experiences and give us your opinions. They are welcomed by me.
Twelve hours, not nice, going travelling soon myself, hope it doesn't take that amount of time to cross our little island :)
Hope the sugar in the blood is all balanced now.

  6. I've read many of your posts and have never thought of you as all knowing. I think it takes courage to share some of the things you've shared and many people (myself included) and learned much from your opinions and experiences. we appreciate your blog! And of course there will always someone out there to find fault. But the problem is theirs, not yours :)

Yes they are, very much so, our experiences are unique to us i think, there may be similarities but i think its important to stress as you pointed out people pain limitations are different.
